I’m not sure if it was all the extra hormones coursing through my body, a bad case of “baby brain”, a dumb blonde even though I’m not blonde moment or the realization that I will soon be solely responsible for the nutritional intake of another person but whatever the case is I initiated the switching of roles between my mother and I this Thanksgiving. What the hellllllllll was I thinking?????!!!! My mother is a phenomenal cook now why would I rock that boat????
For as long as I’ve been able to pick up a knife and cut a piece of anything without cutting my finger off along with it, I’ve played sous-chef/prep cook to the grand master chef (that would be my mama). I’m a pro at cutting up onions and peppers, peeling potatoes and turnips, preboiling the eggs and pastas but this year I decided it would be nice to switch things up a bit (yeah cause I’m a rebel like that). So just call me Grand Master Chef Mo, if the food comes out yummy that is. I’m kind of excited and TOTALLY freaked out. So I shall mark tomorrow as my very first Thanksgiving as chef!!!! I kinda like the sound of that! I’ll be sure to post pictures and give you the Thanksgiving crowd’s reaction this weekend!
